From a young age I knew the stage was the place for me and I've entertained people in various formats for years. Watch my acting debut in a movie some friends and I wrote, shot, edited, recorded music and handed in complete all within 48 hours. While stuff like that was fun I found myself wanting to get back to music. After spending the last 8 years playing in a bedroom I'm finally back where I belong, singing the tunes and banging the drums. My last band, The Memes, had an short but epic run of shows in 2013 before we disbanded. That taste of the band life left me wanting to one day get back to you fine folks bringing the groove and making ya dance the night away. I will forever be grateful to my band mates for all of their hard work and dedication, it shows through in our playing, Dad jokes, and even a little crowd work to make each one of our shows the most fun things I have ever done in my life.

The year was 1997 when it all started….I bought a Backstreet Boys CD like every other kid in my grade and while I thought it was good, I just knew there was something missing in my life. Flash forward 2 years and in the aisle of my local Best Buy I see a CD named “Creed – Human Clay”. I buy it, fully unaware of what was about to happen to my life. The guitars kick in in the first song and in that instant my beard began to grow and my voice dropped a full octave and my life changed forever. I asked my parents for a guitar and after much convincing my parents lovingly got me my Stratocaster. I turned my 15 watt Roland Cube amp up to 10 in my bedroom and struck a chord(I had no idea what I was doing but I think it was a loose version of an A) and I was hooked. Many years of jamming with friends and band and choir eventually led me to the guys in Subject 2 Change, my first and only band I’ve ever been with, and the rock has never stopped ever since!

It’s never too late to live out your childhood dreams. These are the words I’ve lived by when I began this journey. I started out playing in a backyard band called Shoulder Deep with my brother-in-law and some off his buddies and quickly learned how much fun it was to play music. At the urging of a high school friend I later joined the remains of what was once Two Days Removed. We were almost ready to start gigging out when cancer struck down and took one of our brothers in the band. The loss of our friend and band mate also brought the end of this band and woke me up to the trials and turbulence that can come when a band becomes a family. It also made me question whether I’d ever be in another band, but there’s no stopping the power of music. Enter my next project After Hours, this was the band I cut my teeth in. With After Hours I played around Green Bay and the Fox Valley and learned the hard work and dedication was extremely rewarding and the thrill of being on stage had me hooked. Being a part of the local music scene has introduced me to a lot of people and numerous bands some of which I had the privilege of getting up and playing with, bands like Mollies Way and The Mulligans. It was also how I met Tom, one of the founding members of Subject 2 Change. Tom knew I was looking for a new band, so when he exited the band and Greg decided to move on as well, he recommended me for the position. I knew Greg wouldn’t be easy to replace, but with hard work and dedication, I’ve become a fun addition to the band. At any given show I can be found playing out in the crowd doing whatever I can to get people involved in the show, even if that means walking around on the bar. Every show is like my personal circus, yet everyone is welcome.

Like everything else in the world today S2C is super-efficient, as the old guy in the band, my maxim is that I am living in the future. I was telling the guys recently that many years ago I used staple band flyers to utility poles and gas station billboards or mail press releases to newspapers versus today where we just push a few buttons. I am truly fortunate to be working with a great bunch of dudes who share a love and dedication to performing live music. I have been doing band forever and have said more than once it was over but after all this time I keep going. Whether it was my fist band out of high school “RIF RAF” or writing songs and recording with “Goliath” to pounding it for years with “The Edge” or “Axe 2 Grind”. I always put music and band first then dragged myself to work every Monday, ears ringing and muscles aching. I am the moon runner.
